Statement on United Nations investigation into sexual violence by Hamas
STATEMENT FROM REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM FOR ALL
As an organization focused on achieving reproductive freedom and gender equity, we were in attendance this week as the United Nations heard testimony about the horrors committed by Hamas during their brutal attack on Israel, in which the terrorist organization unleashed a violent campaign of sexual assault against women and girls.
Reproductive Freedom For All condemns the abhorrent actions of Hamas. There can be no doubt: the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war is indefensible.
Reproductive freedom includes the freedom for all people to live the lives they want for themselves, and that includes the freedom to raise their families in safety, without fear of violence. We mourn with the Jewish community, we grieve the ongoing loss of Palestinian lives in Gaza including thousands of women and children, and we vehemently oppose the torrent of Islamophobia and antisemitism we see rising in our country.
