As assistant attorney general for civil rights, Harmeet Dhillon leads the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, which works to uphold the civil and constitutional rights of all persons in the United States.

- Dhillon is a self-proclaimed anti-abortion advocate, referring to herself as a “lawyer for the pro-life movement.”
- She called the right to abortion access a “fake federal right,” claiming that abortion is “fundamentally different” compared to other fundamental rights, and repeatedly represented an anti-abortion organization in a series of lawsuits in which federal courts regularly sided against them.
