Reproductive Freedom for All Condemns House Republicans’ Push for Political Interference in Family Decision Making
Washington, DC — Today, House Republicans passed legislation inserting political interference into family decision-making. H.R. 21 is entirely disconnected from how abortion care actually works. This push––so early in the 119th Congress––reveals Republicans’ true intentions of generating confusion about abortion care and criminalizing providers in service of ultimately banning and restricting care by any means possible.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Despite campaign promises to not further attack abortion access, House republicans wasted no time working to do exactly that. This bill is rooted in disinformation, not science or medical reality and it has no place in federal law. Voters are watching—and they will hold the GOP accountable for attacks on their reproductive freedom.”
