NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona Is Now Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona
Phoenix, Arizona— Today, NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona is charting a new path forward as Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona. As we embark on this exciting new chapter, our core mission remains steadfast —continuing to resolutely fight for the reproductive freedom of all Arizonans while honoring the legacy that NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona and its 75,000 members have cultivated.
Reproductive Freedom for All Director of State Campaigns Caroline Mello Roberson released the following statement:
“Nine in 10 Arizonans support the right to abortion and don’t want politicians to interfere in their personal decisions about when and if to start or grow a family. Now, our organization is putting our values front and center as we enter the next era of our fight as Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona. Since our organization launched our chapter in 2020, we continue to grow. Today, we are 75,000 members strong and ready to continue to do the work that is necessary to protect every single person’s right to make their own decisions about their lives, bodies, and futures. We know what’s at stake, and we also know that a consensus of Arizonans want more access to abortion care and less restrictions. Our movement is stronger than ever, and we are committed to our vision for a future where every single Arizonan has true reproductive freedom.”
This announcement coincides with NARAL Pro-Choice America becoming Reproductive Freedom for All. It comes after a vote from our organization’s membership and after years of NARAL research and discussions with people in communities across the country found that people think of abortion rights and access as a matter of freedom. Our research shows that reproductive freedom is a core value for people across the country—across religion, race, and age. With this change, our organization boldly forges ahead toward a future where reproductive freedom is a reality for everybody.
In 2020, NARAL took its fight for reproductive freedom to Arizona, launching NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona (now Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona). Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona is dedicated to advancing reproductive freedom for all through legislative, political, and community organizing. We have organizers in the state, which allows us to organize directly in communities alongside our 75,000 members with door-to-door outreach, phone banking, online actions, and community events.
