“Abortion Access Becoming Hot Topic in Arizona CD-1 Race” as Reproductive Freedom for All Joins Dr. Amish Shah for Roundtable Event in Phoenix
As reported by 12News, Reproductive Freedom for All’s President and CEO Mini Timmaraju and Director of Arizona Campaigns Athena Salman joined AZ-01 congressional candidate Dr. Amish Shah and OB-GYN Dr. Julie Kwatra for a roundtable discussion on the stakes for reproductive freedom in Arizona and around the country.
The event followed Reproductive Freedom for All’s endorsement of Dr. Shah earlier this week, as well as the launch of a new ad hitting Republican candidate Jay Feely as a Trump loyalist who would advance an extreme anti-abortion agenda in Congress.
During the roundtable, participants discussed the critical role Arizona’s 1st Congressional District could play in flipping the U.S. House and restoring a pro-reproductive freedom majority this November. They made clear that electing Dr. Shah would give Arizonans a proven champion in Congress—one who will defend their fundamental freedoms, respect their personal decisions, and fight to uphold the will of Arizona voters.
Drawing on his experience as both an emergency room physician and an Arizona state legislator, Dr. Shah spoke about seeing firsthand how political interference can jeopardize patients’ health and tie the hands of medical professionals. He emphasized that those experiences have prepared him to fight in Congress for patients, providers, and the freedom to make personal health care decisions without government interference.

The contrast in AZ-01 could not be clearer. Dr. Shah is a reproductive freedom champion who fought to repeal Arizona’s 15-week abortion ban and helped pass Proposition 139, which enshrined protections for abortion care. Jay Feely, on the other hand, would be a rubber stamp for Trump’s extreme agenda.
Reproductive Freedom for All Freedom Fund released a new ad this week in AZ-01 to bring attention to Feely’s anti-abortion record—including his support for Trump’s budget bill that stripped healthcare coverage away from millions of Arizonans and put health clinics across the state under financial strain.
Dr. Shah is a reproductive freedom champion and electing him is critical to ensure Arizonans have a leader in Congress who will defend the protections they fought so hard to secure.
