ICYMI: Reproductive Freedom For All’s My Body. My Pod. Went Live at the Activist Summit—With Congressman Jamie Raskin, Katie Phang, and Brittany Fonteno
At Reproductive Freedom for All’s 2026 Activist Summit, President and CEO Mini Timmaraju sat down with Congressman Jamie Raskin, journalist Katie Phang, and National Abortion Federation President and CEO Brittany Fonteno for a live recording of My Body. My Pod. Recorded before a live studio audience of organizers, activists, and movement leaders from across the country at Washington, DC’s Howard Theatre, the conversation explored what is at stake four years after Dobbs, why abortion remains one of the most salient issues heading into the midterm elections, and how the reproductive freedom movement can harness the support of the 8 in 10 Americans who believe abortion should be legal to build political power and hold anti-abortion politicians accountable at the ballot box.

Four years after Dobbs, the consequences of abortion bans have been far-reaching. Pregnant people have been denied timely care—and in some cases have died preventable deaths. Providers and patients face escalating threats and harassment. As Congressman Raskin said on stage, the anti-abortion agenda is “part of a general agenda of authoritarianism and destruction of democracy and democratic freedom.”
Meanwhile, Trump and his allies are attacking reproductive freedom from every angle—through the courts, Congress, federal agencies, and through a Justice Department that has been turned into a shield for anti-abortion extremists. As Katie Phang put it, “it’s always been about power and control.” The episode also gets into the wins—including NAF’s recent court victory blocking Trump’s attempt to create a slush fund to reward people who attack abortion providers and patients. As Brittany Fonteno said, “people should not be paid out and rewarded for attacking abortion providers and the patients they serve.”
This episode is a testament to the power of the people behind the reproductive freedom movement. “This room is filled with people who are actually doing the work. Quite simply, none of this is possible without your hard work,” Timmaraju said.
