Mini Timmaraju Condemns Mass Shooting Attempt Targeting Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and Aurora Hindu Temple
Washington, DC — Mini Timmaraju, President and CEO of Reproductive Freedom for All, issued the following statement condemning an attempted mass shooting on a Hindu temple in Aurora, Illinois, where community members including Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi worship.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“I’m deeply disturbed by the attempted mass shooting targeting Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and fellow worshippers at his temple. As someone who grew up going to the Hindu temple in my community in Houston, Texas, this one hit close to home, and my thoughts are with the Aurora Hindu community. We must call out anti-Indian, anti-Asian, and white supremacist hate in all forms—and perpetrators of violence must be held accountable. A cornerstone of reproductive freedom is being able to raise your family free from violence. Every community deserves to feel safe and worship freely.”
