Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates as Michigan Reproductive Freedom Champions Advance to November Ballot

Lansing, MI — Six Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidates for critical Michigan seats won their primary elections on Tuesday, advancing to the November ballot in statewide and federal races. These victories lay the groundwork for Michiganders to elect reproductive freedom champions who will expand access to reproductive health and abortion care and defend the protections that Michigan voters secured in 2022 with the passage of Proposal 3.

Reproductive Freedom for All is proud to celebrate the following candidates advancing to the November ballot in Michigan:

  • Jocelyn Benson (Governor)
  • Rashida Tlaib (MI-12)
  • Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08)
  • Debbie Dingell (MI-06)
  • Sean McCann (MI-04)
  • Hillary Scholten (MI-03)

Reproductive Freedom for All Director of Michigan Campaigns Shanay Watson-Whittaker released the following statement:

“Michiganders have shown once again that they want leaders who will fight for their reproductive freedom. These champions understand that protecting access requires more than defending the progress we have already made. It means expanding access to care and protecting Michigan’s patients and providers from federal attacks that have the power to override our state protections. We look forward to supporting them through November and beyond to secure a reproductive freedom majority that voters can count on to deliver meaningful results and hold anti-abortion extremists accountable.”

Later this month, Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju will join candidates, organizers, and advocates in Michigan to connect with voters face-to-face, highlight the stakes of this year’s midterm elections, and mobilize support for reproductive freedom champions ahead of November as part of Reproductive Freedom for All’s historic My Body. My Ballot. campaign.
