Press Release
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidate Rep. Dina Titus defeated Republican state Sen. Carrie Buck to win reelection in Nevada’s 1st Congressional District.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Dina Titus has fought for Nevadans’ reproductive freedom since her days in the state Senate, and voters returned her to Congress on the same night they moved to protect abortion rights in Nevada’s constitution.”
Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed Titus in 2025 as part of its first slate of House frontline endorsements and backed her campaign through My Body. My Ballot., a $23.5 million campaign and the organization’s largest-ever midterm electoral program. To help secure this critical victory, Reproductive Freedom for All mobilized its more than 57,000 members in the state.
A former political science professor at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Titus served in the Nevada State Senate for two decades before joining Congress, where she has represented the Las Vegas area since 2013. She supports the Women’s Health Protection Act to codify federal protections for abortion access and voted against the 2025 Republican budget law that cut Planned Parenthood out of Medicaid and stripped health coverage from millions of Americans.
Carrie Buck, a Republican state senator from Henderson, opposed the 2023 constitutional amendment to protect reproductive freedom in Nevada. National Republicans named her to the NRCC’s MAGA Majority program and targeted the seat as a top pickup opportunity.
Titus’s victory comes as Nevadans approved Question 6 for the second time, cementing the right to abortion in the state constitution once and for all.
