Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Delaware-Endorsed Candidates Winning Democratic Primaries
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed candidates Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester and Sarah McBride emerged victorious in Delware’s Democratic primary. If they win their elections this November, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester will become the first Black woman U.S. Senator from Delaware and Sarah McBride will be the first openly transgender member of Congress.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“We need both of these fighters in the Senate and House to protect and expand reproductive freedom, and we’re thrilled to see Delaware voters back them in yesterday’s primary. We know the GOP’s extreme anti-abortion agenda—and that’s why we need to elect these leaders in November to represent the families of the great state of Delaware. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester and Sarah McBride would bring historic representation to the halls of Congress and we could not be more proud to continue supporting them through November and beyond.”
