Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Presidential Debate

Washington, DC – Tonight, during the first presidential debate with Vice President Harris and Donald Trump, the Vice President once again demonstrated her commitment to advancing reproductive freedom by expanding access to abortion care, fertility treatments, and birth control— while Donald Trump continued to brag about his role in ending Roe v. Wade and pushing dangerous disinformation to distract from his extreme anti-abortion agenda.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:

“Kamala Harris was clear, confident, and compassionate about the current crisis we face in this country because of the disastrous Dobbs decision. Meanwhile, Trump not only continued to brag about overturning Roe but refused to veto a national abortion ban. Donald Trump and his extremist allies will ban abortion nationwide. Kamala Harris will sign a federal bill to restore our reproductive freedoms. The contrast couldn’t be clearer.”

The Democratic Party platform illustrates a bold and unwavering commitment to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom for all. It not only reaffirms the party’s dedication to ensuring access to abortion, but also includes comprehensive measures to safeguard access to contraception and IVF, protect the rights of healthcare providers, strengthen patient privacy laws, and address the systemic inequities in maternal healthcare.
