Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Endorsed Candidate Victories in Key California Primary Races
Washington, DC — On Tuesday, Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidates Rob Bonta (attorney general), Eleni Kounalakis (treasurer), Caroline Menjivar (SD-20), and Deborah Klein Lopez (AD-42) won their respective races in California’s primary election.
California continues to lead the nation in protecting abortion access, and these victories mark an important step toward electing leaders who will protect reproductive freedom in November. These champions will hold the line as Trump and his allies escalate their attacks on health care and abortion access nationwide.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Through these victories, Californians have once again rejected the extremist agenda pushed by Trump and his anti-abortion allies, and underscored that they want leaders who will hold the line on reproductive freedom. Rob Bonta, Eleni Kounalakis, Caroline Menjivar, and Deborah Klein Lopez have each demonstrated an unwavering commitment to protecting our rights, our health care, and our democracy. We are proud to work alongside our members in California who are already mobilizing to ensure these candidates are elected in November.”
Reproductive Freedom for All Senior Director of California Campaigns Kristin Slevin released the following statement:
“Californians showed up for reproductive freedom in Tuesday’s primary election. We are proud to celebrate these victories and look forward to continuing the fight alongside Rob Bonta, Eleni Kounalakis, Caroline Menjivar, and Deborah Klein Lopez through November and beyond.”
