Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month and Reaffirms Commitment to Hispanic and Latine Communities
This week marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the history, contributions, and leadership of Hispanic and Latine communities and their integral role in strengthening our democracy.
Hispanic and Latine communities have long been at the forefront of the fight for freedom and equality. This Hispanic Heritage Month, Reproductive Freedom for All recognizes Hispanic communities across the country, as well as the advocates, healthcare providers, community leaders, and organizers working to protect and expand reproductive freedom. We also recognize the work still required to dismantle the barriers that prevent too many people—especially members of this community—from accessing the care they need.
Hispanic and Latine communities are navigating attacks on their civil rights from the Trump administration, alongside ongoing and escalating threats to their reproductive freedom. Abortion bans, Medicaid cuts, and immigration enforcement are making it harder to safely access health care. These policies fall especially hard on immigrant communities, particularly undocumented individuals and mixed-status families, who face additional obstacles to care and heightened risk of criminalization.
At this critical moment, Hispanic and Latine communities are fighting every day for their fundamental freedoms. Reproductive Freedom for All is committed to fighting alongside them, rejecting policies that restrict, criminalize, and exclude—and building a future where everyone has the freedom to make decisions about their body, family, and health.
