Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Senator Jon Ossoff’s Reelection Victory in Georgia
Washington, DC — Today, Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) won his reelection bid to continue representing Georgia in the U.S. Senate, defeating anti-abortion extremist Mike Collins.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Senator Jon Ossoff has never wavered in defending Georgians’ ability to access abortion care. We ran an aggressive ground game in Georgia, and we’re thrilled to send this steadfast champion back to the Senate to keep fighting for reproductive freedom.”
Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed Ossoff in March as part of the organization’s historic My Body. My Ballot. midterm program, a $23.5 million campaign to mobilize voters, hold anti-abortion politicians accountable, and elect reproductive freedom champions in key races across the country. To help secure this critical victory, Reproductive Freedom for All mobilized its nearly 100,000 members in the state. In the final stretch of the election, Mini campaigned for Ossoff across Atlanta and its suburbs, making the case for his reelection to voters.
Sen. Ossoff has been a staunch advocate for reproductive freedom and a leading voice pushing back against attacks on reproductive healthcare. During his time in the Senate, he released reports documenting the devastating effects of Georgia’s extreme abortion ban and worked to hold anti-abortion extremists accountable for the harm their policies have caused across the state.
