Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates the Passage of Prop 50 in California
Washington, DC — Today, Californians approved Prop 50, which will allow Congressional maps in the state to be temporarily redrawn to offset Republican gerrymandering efforts in Texas. The passage of Prop 50 is an important step toward ensuring democracy and fairness prevail in future elections—in 2026 and beyond.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Californians have shown that democracy is not up for grabs, paving the way for voters to demand accountability from their representatives. Prop 50 pushes back against the GOP’s egregious efforts to cheat voters and help Trump secure the majority he needs to keep hurting hardworking families. Californians are setting an example for how voters can push back against MAGA extremists’ agenda.” Â
Our 400,000 Reproductive Freedom for All California members were the engine that drove our work in this campaign, jumping into action to make calls, send texts, and knock doors across the state. Reproductive Freedom for All California’s campaign to hold Republicans accountable and educate voters on Prop 50 included:
â—ŹÂ Thousands of voter contact attempts to ensure Prop 50 passed and protected democracy
â—Ź Educating and training our 400,000 members in California to mobilize their communities through letters to the editor training and education briefings, and to participate in 35+ phone and text banks
â—Ź President and CEO Mini Timmaraju kicked off in-person events in Northern California, and the team joined the kick-off call with Rep. Sara Jacobs and 30+ top volunteers
