Reproductive Freedom for All Endorses Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar for Reelection

Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All is proud to announce its endorsement of Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar for reelection. Since being elected Nevada Secretary of State, Aguilar has stood on the front lines of reproductive freedom—combating voter suppression, preserving secure mail-in voting, and ensuring Nevadans have an unhindered voice at the ballot box to defend essential healthcare rights.

Aguilar’s anti-choice, anti-freedom opponent, Jim Marchant, backed President Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was “rigged” while spreading false claims about Nevada’s voting system and opposing abortion, and was endorsed by anti-abortion organizations.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“When we helped elect Cisco Aguilar four years ago, we knew he would fight for our most fundamental freedoms, including reproductive freedom and the freedom to vote—and he has delivered. Nevadans deserve a secretary of state who will defend their rights and ensure their voices are heard.”

Reproductive Freedom for All Director of Nevada Campaigns Denise Lopez released the following statement:

“Nevadans rejected Jim Marchant and his dangerous election lies once, and we are ready to do it again. Our members will be knocking doors across the state to reelect Cisco Aguilar and pass Question 6 for a second time, securing abortion rights in Nevada’s constitution.”

Aguilar’s commitment to reproductive freedom has defined his public service. In 2022, Reproductive Freedom for All backed his campaign through a massive multi-state electoral program, investing in youth organizing, canvassing, and aggressive voter outreach. Since taking office as Secretary of State, Aguilar has proven that trust was well-placed. He served in leadership as Nevada strengthened legal protections for reproductive healthcare providers and out-of-state patients, while fiercely safeguarding the voting channels necessary for Nevadans to protect their rights at the ballot box.

Reproductive Freedom for All is also investing in a paid canvassing program to mobilize Nevada voters in support of Question 6, which would establish a state constitutional right to abortion. Nevada voters approved the measure for the first time in 2024; it must pass this November again to amend the state constitution.
