Reproductive Freedom for All Endorses Rachel Hunt for North Carolina Lieutenant Governor and Jeff Jackson for Attorney General

Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All announced its endorsement of State Senator Rachel Hunt for lieutenant governor and Rep. Jeff Jackson for attorney general in North Carolina. Reproductive Freedom for All previously endorsed Attorney General Josh Stein for governor. These statewide races will be among the most critical for abortion access in the South, and winning will be key in blocking the state Republicans’ efforts to pass an abortion ban.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“North Carolinians want leaders who will fight for their fundamental freedoms, including their right to abortion care, and that’s why we’re so excited to endorse Rachel Hunt for lieutenant governor and Jeff Jackson for attorney general. When it comes to stopping abortion bans, these statewide seats are critical – our members in North Carolina are already working to elect them this November.”

Rachel Hunt released the following statement:

“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement from yet another ally in our crucial battle for reproductive healthcare and abortion rights. With the support of Reproductive Freedom For All, we’re moving towards a brighter future in North Carolina. As your next Lieutenant Governor, I promise to always defend a woman’s autonomy over her own body, ensuring that politicians never intrude on this fundamental right. Together, let’s continue to champion the cause of reproductive freedom and ensure everybody’s  right to make their own healthcare decisions.”

Rep. Jeff Jackson released the following statement:

“The future of reproductive rights in North Carolina will be decided this year. We have to do everything in our power to defeat extreme politicians who are trying to rip away women’s rights to choose,” said Congressman and candidate for Attorney General Jeff Jackson. “I’m honored to have the endorsement of Reproductive Freedom For All, and I’m excited to work alongside them to protect reproductive rights.”

Reproductive Freedom for All is already on the ground in states across the country as part of its largest-ever electoral program, working to ensure reproductive freedom champions are elected from statehouses to the White House and that we protect and expand abortion rights and access through ballot measures. Our 2024 program connects voters with opportunities to make immediate, tangible change to help build a future where everyone is free to make their own decisions about their bodies, lives, and families.

In November, on the heels of yet another resounding victory for abortion rights in elections across the country, Reproductive Freedom for All launched its “Vote for Repro Freedom” campaign. This digital and grassroots campaign will harness the momentum of big wins in Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky by encouraging voters to commit to voting in 2024 for reproductive freedom champions as the first step in mobilizing the 8 in 10 Americans who support legal abortion.
