Reproductive Freedom for All Launches New Ad Buy Targeting Key Republicans on Medicaid Cuts and Planned Parenthood Attacks Ahead of Budget Vote
Washington, DC — Ahead of the budget vote, Reproductive Freedom for All announced a new five-figure ad buy aimed at four vulnerable U.S. House Republicans: Representatives Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), Jen Kiggans (VA-02), Gabe Evans (CO-08), and Mike Lawler (NY-17).
The ads call out Republican efforts to slash Medicaid—putting cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing, and maternal health care on the chopping block. They also spotlight the GOP’s ongoing efforts to “defund” Planned Parenthood, which could shut down health centers that more than 2 million people rely on for preventive and reproductive care every year.
These ads will run online in each member’s battleground district. This is part of the larger six-figure ad buy that Reproductive Freedom for All has run in the last few months to hold House Republicans accountable.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:
“Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of women and families, yet these Republicans are trying to gut it to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Defunding Planned Parenthood and slashing Medicaid would take away cancer screenings, STI testing, birth control, and prenatal care from the very people these members claim to represent. Our message is simple: if Representatives Ciscomani, Kiggans, Evans, and Lawler vote to defund health care, we’ll make sure their constituents know exactly who is responsible.”
Key facts:
- More than 70 million people rely on Medicaid, including two-thirds of women ages 19–44.
- Medicaid pays for 40% of births in the U.S.
- The vast majority of Planned Parenthood patients depend on Medicaid or other public programs to get the care they need.
- Over 80% of Americans oppose cuts to Medicaid.
