Reproductive Freedom for All Launches New Digital Ad on Todd Blanche’s Confirmation and Threats to Reproductive Freedom in Michigan
Washington, DC — Reproductive Freedom for All launched a new digital ad in battleground districts in Michigan, slamming the confirmation of anti-abortion extremist Todd Blanche as Trump’s new attorney general.
The new ad, which targets women voters aged 18 to 55 years old in MI-07 and MI-10, underscores how Republicans’ anti-abortion extremism continues to ratchet up, despite their claim that abortion should be left to the states. Ahead of his recent confirmation, Blanche pledged that the Department of Justice (DOJ) would work in lockstep with federal agencies and the White House to make the Dobbs decision “permanent in every single state.”
This anti-abortion extremism is a slap in the face for voters in Michigan, who passed a constitutional amendment to establish a fundamental right to abortion and reproductive freedom. Reproductive freedom is on the ballot again this November with extremists like Tom Barrett and Michael Bouchard on the ticket.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Michiganders have made clear that they want their reproductive freedom protected, yet Republicans continue to escalate attacks on abortion access. Installing Todd Blanche at the helm of the nation’s top law enforcement agency is part of a coordinated effort by Republicans to create a national abortion ban without Congress ever having to pass a bill. Between now and November, we’ll make clear to voters that rejecting extremists at home is the first step to restoring a reproductive freedom majority in Congress that will hold Trump and his allies accountable.”
