Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Mike Collins and Derek Dooley Advancing to Primary Runoff Election for Georgia Senate Race

Washington, DC — Last night, Mike Collins and Derek Dooley advanced to the Primary Runoff Election for Georgia’s Senate race. The two Republican candidates will be facing off to determine who will be opposing Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidate Senator Jon Ossoff in November’s election.

Collins is an anti-abortion extremist who opposes abortion even in cases of rape, incest, and life of the mother. He celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, and has consistently backed policies to restrict access to abortion and other reproductive health care—including the Life at Conception Act, which sought to ban abortion nationwide and jeopardized access to IVF.

Dooley has aligned himself with Trump on abortion access, arguing the issue should be left to the states—a position that leaves Georgians with a six-week abortion ban and no federal protection. He also supported the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, which opened the door to Georgia’s extreme abortion restrictions.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“Mike Collins and Derek Dooley are MAGA extremists who would rubber-stamp Donald Trump’s agenda, including a national abortion ban. Re-electing Senator Jon Ossoff is critical for building a Senate majority that protects reproductive freedom. As Republicans escalate their push for a national abortion ban, we can’t afford to have either of these wildly out-of-step candidates join their ranks in Washington, and our members are already mobilizing to ensure they don’t.”
