Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Trump’s Non-Announcement on IVF

Washington, DC Today, the White House “announced” a proposal for employer-sponsored insurance coverage for IVF, but the proposal lacks any meaningful incentive for employers and falls far short of requiring coverage.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“This is another attempt by the Trump Administration to gaslight the American public into believing he’ll deliver on empty campaign promises. The same people attacking reproductive freedom are now pretending to care about IVF — while shutting down the government and gutting healthcare for families.”

During Trump’s first administration, he stacked the Supreme Court with anti-abortion extremists, which led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade and endangered access to reproductive health care. Just a few months later, the Alabama State Supreme Court issued a ruling that threatened access to IVF and led some providers in the state to pause access.
