Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Vice Presidential Debate

Washington, DC – Tonight, during the vice presidential debate with Governor Tim Walz and Senator JD Vance, Walz once again demonstrated his deep commitment to advancing reproductive freedom. As governor, Walz has championed our fundamental rights and freedoms, expanding access to abortion care in his home state of Minnesota, and addressing his family’s own experience with assisted fertility treatments like IVF. Meanwhile, JD Vance spewed lie after lie about his and Donald Trump’s anti-abortion record.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:

“Tonight, Gov. Walz shined a light on the real-life stories of people who have experienced the catastrophic and sometimes deadly consequences of Donald Trump’s abortion bans. Faced with the reality of MAGA Republicans’ consequences, JD Vance repeatedly lied to millions of Americans about his record and support for a national abortion ban. Gov. Walz was the clear winner of this debate. No matter how Vance tries to shamelessly run from his record and the fact that Donald Trump is responsible for ending Roe v. Wade, voters know the truth. Trump did this, and Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will fix it.”
