Receiving our Lifetime Achievement Award

Rep. Diana DeGette, a fourth-generation Coloradoan, represents Denver in Congress and is the longest serving member of Colorado’s Congressional delegation. She is the top Democrat on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Health Subcommittee. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Reproductive Freedom Caucus, formerly Pro-Choice Caucus, DeGette has led the fight for abortion rights and access in Congress for nearly 30 years.

Before her election to Congress, DeGette served in the state legislature, where she passed the nation’s first “bubble bill” law that protects safe access to reproductive health facilities and has been upheld multiple times by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Senator Mark Kelly

Senator Mark Kelly

he/him

(D-Arizona)

Mark Kelly has served his country as a U.S. Navy combat pilot, a NASA astronaut, and now as a U.S. Senator for Arizona. He is an independent leader who came to the Senate to serve Arizona’s working families, not corporate special interests.

Senator Tina Smith

Senator Tina Smith

she/her

(D-Minnesota)

Receiving our Lifetime Achievement Award

Tina Smith has represented Minnesota in the United States Senate since 2018. Since coming to the Senate, Senator Smith has championed the right of Americans to make their own reproductive health decisions. She is the only sitting United States Senator to have worked for Planned Parenthood, where she served as an Executive Vice President for Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

She has introduced a host of legislation aimed at protecting access to medication abortions, expanding access to the nation’s largest family planning program (Title X), prohibiting states from hindering patients traveling across state lines to obtain abortion care, and the landmark Stop Comstock Act, which would repeal language in the Comstock Laws that could be used by an anti-abortion administration to ban the mailing of mifepristone and other drugs used in medication abortions.
