Hyde Expansion

American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Motion to waive certain Senate rules that would advance the Lankford (R-OK) amendment to expand abortion coverage bans (Hyde Amendment).

Three-fifths of the Senate (60 votes) is required to advance an amendment using this procedural maneuver.

This measure negatively impacts reproductive freedom.
