ICYMI: Reproductive Freedom For All Knocks Doors in Support of Critical Virginia Voting Rights Ballot Measure
On Saturday, Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju joined Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, Congressman Don Beyer, and volunteers to kick off a canvass in Woodbridge and Arlington in support of a ballot measure to temporarily redraw Virginia’s congressional maps—a critical step to protect democracy. Members knocked over 300 doors ahead of Election Day tomorrow.
Virginians will have the opportunity to restore election fairness amid Trump-directed, Republican-led efforts to stack the deck and rig the midterms. The proposed amendment is a temporary, one-time exception that gives Virginians a crucial voice to meet the current moment, and Virginians’ bipartisan redistricting process will resume after the 2030 election.

Virginia voters secured sweeping wins for reproductive freedom champions in the 2025 election cycle by securing majorities in the House of Delegates and electing Abigail Spanberger as governor, Ghazala Hashmi as lieutenant governor, and Jay Jones as attorney general. These victories cleared the way for the ballot measure to be put in front of Virginia voters tomorrow.
Reproductive Freedom for All helped power these victories with a six-figure paid canvass operation, targeted ads exposing Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears’ extreme record, and a campus organizing program at Virginia Tech.

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of democracy, but Trump is using states like Texas and Florida to redraw congressional districts to favor Republican candidates and further entrench his unchecked power—all without voter approval. This push for extreme partisan gerrymandering is part of a coordinated effort to gut voting rights, rig the midterms, and undermine our democracy from every angle.
Virginians have made clear time and again that they will not allow Trump and his allies to decimate long-held election norms to garner more seats for themselves and continue to ram through their unpopular policies. Reproductive Freedom for All and our 112,000 members in Virginia know what’s at stake, and Virginia voters are fired up and ready to defend their voices and democracy at the ballot box.
