Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Biden-Harris Administration’s Proposed Expansion of Contraception Coverage Under Affordable Care Act
Washington, DC — Today, the Biden-Harris administration announced a proposal to expand the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive coverage benefit to include over-the-counter contraception without a prescription with no additional costs, at a time when anti-abortion Republicans continue working to block access to reproductive health care, including contraception, abortion, and assisted fertility treatments like IVF. Earlier this year, Senate Republicans voted against protecting the right to contraception.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“With access to reproductive health care on the chopping block this November, the Biden-Harris administration is working to deliver* on its promise to fight for reproductive freedom. We’re grateful to President Biden and Vice President Harris for their tireless work to ensure all Americans can make their own decisions [about when and if to start or grow their families, and we look forward to learning more about this latest announcement.”
