Press Release
Carson City, NV — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidate Nicole Cannizzaro defeated Trump-endorsed Republican Adriana Guzmán Fralick to become Nevada’s next attorney general.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Nicole Cannizzaro has spent her career fighting for Nevadans, and we’re thrilled she can continue to hold the line against increasing attacks on reproductive freedom as attorney general. As Trump and his allies escalate their attacks on health care and abortion access nationwide, electing Cannizzaro is how the people of Nevada are fighting back.”
Reproductive Freedom for All Director of Nevada Campaigns Denise Lopez released the following statement:
“Nicole Cannizzaro helped write some of our state’s strongest protections, and now she will enforce them as attorney general. Our more than 57,000 members across the state mobilized to choose a proven champion who will defend patients and providers when anti-abortion extremists try to reach across state lines.”
Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed Cannizzaro as part of My Body. My Ballot., a $23.5 million campaign and the organization’s largest-ever midterm electoral program. To help secure this critical victory, Reproductive Freedom for All mobilized its more than 57,000 members in the state. In June, Reproductive Freedom for All Nevada hosted a press conference with Cannizzaro and other state leaders to discuss the importance of approving Question 6 in November.
As Nevada Senate majority leader, Nicole Cannizzaro has consistently worked to advance legislation to protect reproductive freedom. She has been a longtime champion for Question 6, advanced legislation to protect patients who seek abortion care in Nevada from out-of-state prosecution, and sponsored bills to expand access to birth control and IVF.
