Reproductive Freedom for All Kicks Off Michigan ‘My Body. My Ballot’ Campaign and Endorses Slate of Candidates in Michigan

Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All kicked off the ‘My Body. My Ballot’ campaign in Michigan, supporting candidates in key statewide and congressional races and endorsing a slate of candidates for the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, and state Supreme Court in Michigan. These leaders are committed to defending Michiganders’ fundamental rights, protecting patients and providers across the state, and expanding access to abortion.

Reproductive Freedom for All’s new endorsements include Dr. Abdul El-Sayed (MI-SEN), Callie Barr (MI-01), William Lawrence (MI-07), Christina Hines (MI-10), and Michigan Supreme Court Justices Megan Cavanagh and Noah Hood.

These endorsements come as part of Reproductive Freedom for All’s historic My Body. My Ballot. midterm program, which has already delivered a six-figure investment in Michigan for direct voter contact efforts across key districts. The campaign is mobilizing the 8 in 10 Americans who support reproductive freedom and reaching voters across the country to elect reproductive freedom champions up and down the ballot. The organization previously endorsed Jocelyn Benson for Governor, Eli Savit for Attorney General, and Garlin Gilchrist for Secretary of State, backing reproductive freedom champions in Michigan’s top statewide races, and Hillary Scholten (MI-03), Sean McCann (MI-04), Debbie Dingell (MI-06), Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), and Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) in key congressional races.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“Reproductive Freedom for All is ready to get to work and is proud to support champions fighting for Michiganders whose races could decide control of Congress and the future of reproductive care. Republicans’ attempts to ban abortion nationwide won’t go unanswered—Michiganders are mobilizing to support Democrats up and down the ticket.”

Reproductive Freedom for All Director of Michigan Campaigns Shanay Watson-Whittaker released the following statement:

“We have over 150,000 members who are working across Michigan to flip Congress and elect candidates committed to protecting the rights of Michiganders. Voters have repeatedly made clear they want access to abortion protected, and they do not support GOP funding cuts that are shuttering clinics.  Reproductive freedom is on the ballot, and voters across the state are ready to send anti-abortion politicians packing.”
