Earlier this year, Reproductive Freedom for All Michigan joined Michigan United, Black Voters Matter, Mothering Justice, and an 11-organization coalition in Lansing for Capitol Day 2026—a 300-strong statewide gathering of grassroots advocates.
We met with state legislators, hosted a youth panel, and brought our demands to lawmakers’ doors: pass the Michigan FACE Act (SB 154), backfill funding for Planned Parenthood of Michigan, and fight alongside us against the federal attacks on reproductive freedom by the Trump administration.

The day brought Michiganders together, united by this moment when working people are being asked to absorb attacks on our freedoms, our health care, and our democracy, while billionaires make the rules. We came to the Capitol to push back and make our lawmakers feel the pressure!

We hosted a youth panel to listen to the generation inheriting this fight—this year featuring Michigan high schoolers speaking on what bodily autonomy means to them, the gaps they see in reproductive health care, and what they want their state to do about it.
🏆 What we came to the Capitol to win
- Pass the Michigan FACE Act (SB 154): SB 154 would establish state-level protections for patients, providers, and the facilities where care actually happens. As anti-abortion extremists escalate threats against clinics and providers across the country, and as the federal FACE Act is openly ignored by the Trump justice department, Michigan needs its own backstop.
- Backfill funding for Planned Parenthood of Michigan: Planned Parenthood of Michigan is the largest provider of sexual and reproductive health care in the state, serving tens of thousands of Michiganders every year. With Title X cuts and Medicaid attacks straining their operations, state funding is one of the most direct ways Michigan can keep care open and accessible.
