Attacks on reproductive freedom and attacks on democracy go hand in hand. Extremist Republican lawmakers are working to ban abortion nationwide, and voter suppression is just one part of their plan.

But in Virginia, voters are pushing back.

Recent elections delivered a reproductive freedom majority—state lawmakers committed to protecting rights. Those champions include Governor Abigail Spanberger, Lieutenant Governor Ghazala Hashmi, and Attorney General Jay Jones.

These wins position Virginia as a critical access point for abortion care—and set the state for even bigger protections ahead.

This November, Virginians will vote on a constitutional amendment to enshrine the fundamental right to reproductive health care, including abortion, in the state constitution.
