Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Christina Hines’ Victory to Represent MI-10 in the U.S. House
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidate Christina Hines won her bid to represent Michigan’s 10th Congressional District in the U.S. House, defeating anti-abortion extremist Mike Bouchard and flipping the seat from red to blue.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Christina Hines has spent her career as a prosecutor protecting survivors and holding abusers accountable, and now she’s taking that experience to Congress to fight for Michigan women and families. This seat was left open by anti-abortion extremist John James, and Michiganders made clear tonight that they instead want a leader who will stand firmly for their reproductive freedom.”
Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed Hines in September as part of My Body. My Ballot., its $23.5 million campaign and largest-ever midterm electoral program. To help secure this critical victory, Reproductive Freedom for All mobilized its more than 157,000 members in the state and invested nearly half a million dollars in voter contact efforts. In September, Mini kicked off a canvass launch with Hines in Warren.
Hines is a former special victims prosecutor who spent a decade handling cases involving sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, hate crimes, and homicide. In Congress, she has committed to protecting reproductive freedom and expanding access to affordable health care for Michigan families.
Bouchard was endorsed by anti-abortion groups Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America and Right to Life of Michigan—the latter of which sued to overturn Proposal 3, the constitutional amendment Michigan voters approved in 2022 to protect reproductive freedom.
