Reproductive Freedom for All Launches $5 Million Electoral Program to Mobilize Voters and Protect Reproductive Freedom in 2025 Elections, Including Activations Across Virginia

Reproductive Freedom for All announced the launch of the “Your Vote, Your Freedom” campaign, a $5 million 2025 electoral program to turn out voters, hold anti-abortion extremists accountable, and defend against attacks on reproductive freedom in key states. The nationwide effort will focus on important battlegrounds, including Virginia, where reproductive freedom and health care access hang in the balance.

This program is investing in innovative digital and field tactics, grassroots organizing, and paid media to reach and mobilize voters and ensure they understand what is at stake. Across the country, our 4 million members are already making calls, knocking doors, and talking to their neighbors to make reproductive freedom a defining issue of these elections and lay a strong foundation for the 2026 midterms.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“As the last state in the South without an abortion ban, Virginia voters have a critical role in this election. In 2023 they rejected republican attempts to ban abortion and will do it again in 2025. Our 112,000 members are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work for Abigail Spanberger and reproductive freedom champions up and down the ballot to make sure reproductive freedom wins in Virginia.”

From the gubernatorial to the state legislature, the future of reproductive freedom in Virginia is on the line—and these races will determine whether or not the state remains a crucial access point for abortion care in the South. Reproductive Freedom for All has endorsed Abigail Spanberger for governor, Ghazala Hashmi for lieutenant governor, Jay Jones for attorney general, and several state legislature candidates.

Electing reproductive champions up and down the ballot will ensure that Virginians have the opportunity to vote on a ballot measure to enshrine abortion access in the state constitution in 2026.

Virginia’s 2025 election will also be a bellwether for the future of reproductive freedom in states across the country heading into 2026. Reproductive Freedom for All has spent $1 million on the “Your Vote, Your Freedom” campaign in Virginia, including:

  • Launching a six-figure paid canvass operation to engage and mobilize key voters, particularly in the House of Delegates 86th district/Hampton Roads area.
  • Knocking on 36,500 doors, making 12,000 calls and thousands of texts, as well as partnering with the Virginia Coordinated Campaign on multiple Northern Virginia canvases.
  • Running ads in the gubernatorial race highlighting Winsome Earle-Sears’ extreme position on abortion.
  • Organizing multiple events, educating our 112,000 members in Virginia about what’s at stake, including a campus program at our Virginia Tech chapter to turn out the vote.
