Reproductive Rights Toplines
In just 100 days, Trump has slashed reproductive health care, restricted abortion access, and made our country more dangerous for pregnant people and families (just like we anticipated). And with a Republican trifecta—control of the presidency, the House, and the Senate—GOP lawmakers have done nothing to stop him.
From pardoning anti-abortion extremists, to dropping federal protections for emergency care, to packing his cabinet with anti-abortion loyalists, it’s clear Trump is dead set on turning the Project 2025 playbook into policy.
We’re watching it unfold in real time—and the worst part? Much of it is happening quietly, without fanfare—and that’s exactly the point.

No one should have to risk their life to get medical care. You are not alone, and there are resources available.
⚠️ The Worst Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in Trump’s First 100 Days
Trump is giving Christian nationalists and white supremacists unprecedented power to take away our rights.
Giving religious extremists influence in the federal government empowers lawmakers to make discriminatory interpretations of Christianity as the rule of law with frightening implications for access to abortion, contraception, IVF, and more as described in Project 2025.
⚠️ The Worst Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in Trump’s First 100 Days
When our military is stationed somewhere abortion is banned, they often have to travel to get reproductive health care they need—like abortion or IVF. Trump eliminated a Biden-era policy that helped cover certain travel costs for service members and their families.
⚠️ The Worst Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in Trump’s First 100 Days
Trump pardoned more than 20 people convicted of harassing and threatening abortion providers and patients. Then Trump’s DOJ—under Pam Bondi’s leadership—said the Department of Justice won’t enforce the FACE Act at all. Trump’s actions embolden anti-abortion extremists to continue harassing and intimidating abortion providers and patients.
⚠️ The Worst Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in Trump’s First 100 Days
Abortion bans are driving OB-GYNs out of states—and pushing medical students out of the field altogether. 31 U.S. states are failing to provide basic sexual health and reproductive services.
As maternal health deserts spread, care is disappearing for millions. Now, Trump is making things even worse by freezing Title X funding.
Title X provides essential health care—birth control, STI testing, cancer screenings, and more—to millions of people with low incomes. These restrictions have already forced some clinics, including Planned Parenthood health centers, to close. And in rural and low-income communities, Title X clinics are often the only places to get this care.
⚠️ The Worst Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in Trump’s First 100 Days
Trump is making cuts to federal agencies to the detriment of pregnant people and their families, and appointed anti-abortion loyalists to his cabinet. Anti-abortion extremists RFK Jr. (HHS), Pam Bondi (DOJ), Marco Rubio (Secretary of State), Pete Hegseth (Secretary of Defense), Russ Vought (OMB), and Mehmet Oz (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) have all been confirmed to Trump’s cabinet—and they are not hesitating to implement his anti-abortion agenda.
Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services, under the helm of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., proposed $40 billion in budget slashes—putting maternal health, and STI testing under threat. The strategy? Starve the system, then say it’s failing.
And while Trump touts his meaningless IVF order that did absolutely nothing to improve access to fertility treatments, he’s also teaming up with Elon Musk to gut the CDC’s maternal health and fertility treatment research teams—which will no doubt worsen our U.S. maternal mortality crisis.
⚠️ The Worst Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in Trump’s First 100 Days
The Trump administration dropped a federal lawsuit, U.S. v. Idaho, refusing to protect emergency abortion care—a move that sends a clear, chilling message: they are okay with letting pregnant people die.
The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) is a federal law that requires hospital emergency rooms to provide life-saving care, including abortion. If EMTALA is ignored, hospitals could refuse to provide emergency care to pregnant people in crisis.

Medicaid is under threat from Republican lawmakers, their anti-abortion extremist allies, and their billionaire cronies across three fronts:
⚠️ The Worst Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in Trump’s First 100 Days
Trump and his anti-abortion supporters are trying to ban abortion nationwide by enforcing a radical and baseless interpretation of the antiquated 1873 Comstock Act. This 150-year-old law, passed before women could even vote, would make it illegal for patients to receive abortion medication through the mail.
This directly threatens mifepristone, a safe and effective medication used in more than 60% of all abortion care in the United States. Mifepristone is also under threat in the courts, and by the FDA now headed up by anti-abortion extremist Martin Makary.
With stigma and threat of criminalization surrounding abortion, receiving abortion pills in the mail can be the safest way for people to access the care they need. Banning the mailing of mifepristone would fully restrict abortion access for millions.
In red and blue states alike, the majority of Americans support the legal right to abortion. All of these efforts could block access to both abortion pills and medical equipment used for abortion care, effectively banning abortion nationwide—even in states where abortion is protected.
Even in the face of all this, we are fighting back. Here are a few glimmers of progress:
Republican Freedom for All and our partners joined together to support Planned Parenthood ahead of the Supreme Court’s hearings for Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. We were also an organizing partner for Hands Off, a national day of action when millions of people flooded 1,300 events nationwide to push back against Trump, Elon Musk, and Republican lawmakers and defend reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA+ rights, and Medicaid.
Republican lawmakers got so much criticism at their town halls that Speaker Mike Johnson encouraged the GOP to cancel them altogether.

Together we pressured our Senators to reject Trump’s dangerous anti-abortion cabinet nominees. While the Republican-majority Senate ultimately backed Trump’s picks, we refused to back down without a fight.

Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed candidate Judge Susan Crawford was elected to Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, beating anti-abortion extremist Brad Schimel—who’s funded by Elon Musk and his dark money war chest.

Republicans currently control all three branches of the federal government, but we can’t forget that our allies are tirelessly fighting to protect reproductive rights from extremist attacks.
When GOP lawmakers rushed voting on anti-abortion legislation, Senate Democrats ultimately blocked the GOP’s legislation.
Senators like Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) have been loudly advocating about the need to protect and expand access to IVF.
Arizona Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego co-hosted a town hall with Reproductive Freedom for All to discuss the threats to Medicaid cuts—and the pressure is working.
Finally, New Jersey Democratic Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) broke a record with his 25-hour impassioned anti-Trump speech, the longest-ever filibuster in U.S. Senate history. This is what real dedication to building a better future looks like, and this level of commitment is what we should expect from every single one of our leaders in Congress.
Feeling fired up? Good. We’ve got a plan for that.
In response to Trump’s first 100 days of attacks, we’re launching 100 Days, 100 Actions—a daily challenge with one small, powerful action you can take each day to defend reproductive freedom.
From contacting lawmakers, to sharing social media posts, each action builds momentum.
